Leads are not the same as Contacts. Leads and Contacts serve different roles and offer different features.
A Lead is the record of information about a potential opportunity which includes the following fields:
- Individual(s) connecting you to the potential opportunity (these individuals may or may not be directly related to the Account)
- Account name (the organization where you are pursuing the lead)
An individual associated with a Lead may become a Contact, but not necessarily.
A Contact is the record of an individual associated with an Opportunity. Contacts are separate records which may be linked to specific Accounts and Opportunities.
When the Lead is converted to an Opportunity during the sales process, the information entered into the Lead Record is automatically converted by Veloxity into the following records:
Name | Description |
---|---|
Account Record | The physical organization. |
Contact Record | Individual people associated with the account. |
Opportunity Record | Data related to the sales process. |
An individual associated with a Lead only becomes a Contact when the Opportunity is created.
