What is Group Access in Data Designer?
Definition
Data Type access can be granularly configured at the field-level using Group Access in Data Designer.
For information on setting up access at the data type-level, visit Group Manager in App Setup.
How can I use Group Access in Data Designer?
Access can be assigned in two ways:
- Assign by Group: Select a group from the pick list. The table populates with fields for the selected data type. Current read/write permissions for each data type are displayed and available to update.
- Assign by Field: Select a field from the pick list. The table populates with user groups for the selected data field. Current read/write permissions for the data field are displayed and available to update.
Where can I find Group Access in Data Designer?
From the Main Menu, click My Profile > App Setup > Data Designer > Group Access

How can I use Group Access in Data Designer?
Use Group Access in Data Designer to configure field-level access for each data type.
- Begin by selecting the Data Type you want to configure.
- Select the Group Access function.
- Select to either assign field-level access by Group or by Field.
- Click Save.
Assign by Group
- Click Assign by Group.
- Select a group from the pick list.
- Configure read/edit permissions for each data field.
- Click Save.

- Configure read/edit permissions for each user group.
